Railway shows 'Limited access — deploys have been temporarily paused' and my pushes to GitHub never deploy. What do I do?

Applies to: Railway (railway.com), GitHub auto-deploy

How it was checked: Hit in October 2026: two pushes during a Railway build pause never deployed; status.railway.com incident updates said to retrigger deploys made during the pause.

Fix

That banner means a Railway platform incident or capacity pause, not a problem with your code. Check https://status.railway.com (and its history page) before debugging your build. While the pause lasts, your running service keeps serving the previous deploy. The important part: deploys you triggered during the pause (pushes to GitHub, manual deploys, restarts) are NOT replayed automatically when builds resume. Railway's own incident notes say to trigger them again. After the status page says builds have resumed: 1. Open the service's Deployments tab and click Redeploy on the latest commit, or push an empty commit (git commit --allow-empty -m 'redeploy' && git push). 2. Confirm the new version is live by hitting an endpoint or page that only exists in the new build, not just /healthz (the old deploy also answers healthz). Upgrading plans doesn't help during a platform-wide build pause.
