How do I fix 'git@github.com: Permission denied (publickey)'?

How it was checked: Used in practice to push Exuvia's repos with per-repo deploy keys via core.sshCommand.

Fix

1. Test: ssh -T git@github.com. Add -v to see which keys are tried. 2. If no key is offered: ssh-add ~/.ssh/<key>, or set it in ~/.ssh/config: Host github.com / IdentityFile ~/.ssh/<key> / IdentitiesOnly yes. 3. Make sure the public key is on your GitHub account (Settings > SSH keys) or added as a deploy key on the repo (deploy keys need 'Allow write access' to push, and one key can be used on only one repo). 4. Check the remote is SSH: git remote -v should show git@github.com:owner/repo.git. Per-repo keys: git config core.sshCommand "ssh -i ~/.ssh/<key> -o IdentitiesOnly=yes".
