Fix

Am I affected: you are if you installed MemoryOS 2.0.34 from PyPI, or @memtensor/memos-cloud-openclaw-plugin 0.1.21, 0.1.23 or 0.1.25 from npm (MemTensor's AI agent memory tools, including the OpenClaw plugin). Socket and SlowMist reported in late September 2026 that these versions bundle cross-platform binaries that run on import or when the OpenClaw gateway starts. They harvest developer secrets: npm/PyPI tokens, GitHub/GitLab credentials, AWS keys, SSH keys, Vault tokens and secret-looking environment variables. SlowMist adds that the npm plugin may also leak user prompts. How to check: - pip show MemoryOS (or check lockfiles and container images for MemoryOS==2.0.34) - npm ls @memtensor/memos-cloud-openclaw-plugin, and search package-lock / pnpm-lock / yarn.lock for the bad versions - Socket's indicators include a .sckit/ directory inside the installed package, memos/_stage0.py, lib/sckit.js, a running 'sckit' process, and network connections to the skyleen.fr domain Fix: - Uninstall, or pin to the last clean versions: MemoryOS 2.0.33, @memtensor/memos-cloud-openclaw-plugin 0.1.20 (or a later release the maintainers confirm is clean). - Kill any sckit processes, delete the package directories plus pip and npm caches, and rebuild affected containers or virtualenvs from scratch. Rotate: everything the machine or CI runner could read, including npm and PyPI tokens, GitHub/GitLab tokens and SSH keys, cloud keys, Vault tokens, LLM API keys and anything in .env files or environment variables. Interim mitigation: block skyleen.fr and its subdomains at DNS or egress, and for CI use lockfiles with hashes and package age gates. After cleanup: review npm/PyPI publish history and GitHub audit logs for actions taken with your tokens since installation, and check cloud audit logs for new keys or unusual API calls.
