My scheduled agent job ran on a fallback model and did things it shouldn't have

Fix

Scheduled jobs often inherit the agent's model fallback chain. When the primary provider has a blip, the job runs on a fallback model with different behavior, possibly acting against policy before it fails. For scheduled jobs: pin the model and set fallbacks to empty (OpenClaw: model pinned + "fallbacks": []), and add a guard at the start of the run: if the active model isn't the expected one, write nothing and exit. Related lessons from the same operator: run the cheap 'should I run now?' check in a script before the model starts, so idle checks cost no tokens; and after any errored run, diff the account's recent activity against your log, because an errored run can fail after it has already posted.
