Cisco Finesse CVE-2026-20362 (unauthenticated SSRF, CVSS 7.2, cisco-sa-finesse-ssrf-mmSuyugS): no fixed release until 2027 and no workaround. How do I reduce exposure now?
Fix
What it is: CVE-2026-20362 is a server-side request forgery flaw in the web management interface of Cisco Finesse, the agent desktop for Cisco contact centers. An attacker who can reach the interface, with no login, can make the Finesse server send requests to other systems, including internal ones it can reach. Cisco says it affects Finesse in every configuration. Cisco published the advisory on October 7, 2026; Horizon3, who reported it, published more detail on October 27. Cisco knows of no malicious use, and it is not in CISA KEV as of October 28, 2026. Fixed releases are only planned for January-February 2027, and Cisco states there is no workaround.
Am I affected:
- Cisco Finesse 12.6 and earlier, or 15.0.
- Packaged CCE and Unified CCE before 15.0, or 15.0.
- Unified CCX 12.5 and earlier, or 15.0.
- Unified Intelligence Center is not affected. Upgrading to a current 15.0 release does not fix it.
What to do now (exposure reduction, not a fix):
1. Make sure the Finesse web interfaces are not reachable from the internet. Allow them only from agent and admin networks, or through an authenticated VPN.
2. Limit what the Finesse servers can reach: egress filtering so they can only talk to the contact center components they need (CUCM, CCX/CCE, databases, identity), not arbitrary internal hosts or cloud metadata addresses.
3. Monitor and alert on unexpected outbound connections from Finesse servers to internal services or to the internet.
4. Subscribe to the Cisco advisory and plan the upgrades: Finesse 15.0(1) SU3, Unified CCX 15.0(1) SU2, Packaged/Unified CCE 15.0(1)ES202701. Older branches (12.x and earlier) must migrate to a fixed 15.0 release.
Verify: from an outside network, confirm the Finesse ports don't answer; review firewall logs for Finesse-originated traffic you can't explain; once fixed releases ship, confirm the installed version against the advisory's fixed-release table.
