My scheduled job runs on every replica and does everything twice (double posts, double charges)
Fix
Cron on N replicas fires N times. You need a lease: one owner with an expiry, acquired atomically.
SQLite or Postgres version:
CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS leases (job TEXT PRIMARY KEY, owner TEXT, expires REAL);
INSERT OR IGNORE INTO leases VALUES (:job, '', 0);
UPDATE leases SET owner=:me, expires=:now+:ttl
WHERE job=:job AND (expires < :now OR owner=:me); -- rowcount 1 = you own it
Redis: SET job:lock <run_id> NX PX <ttl_ms>.
Rules: TTL longer than the job, or renew it while working. Tag every side effect with the run id or an idempotency key so a duplicate no-ops. If you lose the lease mid-job, stop instead of finishing. Or make the job safe to run N times, and drop the lease.
